30 Day challenge!

Day 21- A picture of something you wish you could forget

These are pictures of my scars that I got while i was pregnant. I used to work at a nursing home for many years and during my last few years there, the place was just going downhill so fast!! The nurses weren't doing their jobs to make sure it was a safe environment, and that people who had contagious disease's or sickness'  rarely had a chart warning you of their contagiousness! Long story short I was working with a young man who had MRSA ( MRSA is especially troublesome in hospitals and nursing homes where patients with open wounds, invasive devices and weakened immune systems are at greater risk of infection than the general public.) I Was around this young man for a while not knowing that he had MRSA, eventually i had a lump on my breast that felt like a pimple but was so painful that i went to the doctor and they took a sample and called me back with the news...I HAD MRSA! I had to take antibiotics for it and let me tell you, IT SUCKED! Needless to say MRSA can come back once you've had it, and while i was working at the nursing home i had it 9 times!! These three scars are three of nine! But they are also the worst scars I have. I could tell when I was starting to get an abscess because it would hurt so bad! Well while i was 3 months pregnant i began to feel one on my back! I called Chris to come look and sure enough it was starting to form! Then i noticed i had two smaller ones forming next to it! The abscess never surfaced and this was by far one of the most painful things i have ever encountered! I went to the Emergency Room and they took me in right away! They had to lance the abscess open and pack it with gauze!! That was so painful, all i could do was cry! And to top it off i was 3 months PREGNANT! I could only take tylenol for the pain :(. I had to go back to the ER the next day to have them remove the gauze, which was by far the most painful part! They just YANKED it OUT! Well my obgyn told me that she felt i was safer for me and for the baby that I would need to go on maternity leave asap! Because if i had any more outbreaks it could get into my blood stream and affect my daughter! So I went on leave and never went back! And i have been MRSA free ever since! Makes you wonder how sterile those hospitals really are! But this is something i really wish i could forget, and well i cant because there are 3 ugly scars on my back! Its made me so self conscious to wear tank tops or tube tops or anything that shows my back....I am just grateful that I haven't had an outbreak!!
